Studybay is a little bit different from other essay writing services we’ve reviewed before because the company is positioning itself as a top-notch academic assistance platform. According to them, their professional tutors can tackle just about any academic project, be it a writing assignment or chemistry homework.
The platform works a bit differently, too: to get help, a customer describes the problem and submits it to the site. Then, Study Bay posts the assignment “in auction,” and available writers make offers along with the price of the assignment. The customer thus is responsible for choosing the writer, which is pretty good.
Studybay Writing Services Reviews
StudyBay says they have tutors for just about every subject and type of assignment. According to their home page, their workforce consists of tens of thousands of people from all over the country (we don’t know which country they meant by that, but we found a lot of writers from non-English speaking countries, too).
So, they want you to think that they can help you with anything you could be assigned by your professor.
Pricing and Discounts
Since your paper goes to an auction, each writer who applies to complete it proposes their price. Even though the site says that the prices start at $5, we’ve encountered prices as low as $2.
According to Studybay.com, their biggest advantage is the lack of intermediaries that cuts the cost of orders by up to 50 percent. While this sounds good, we found that the quality of writing suffers big-time.
The list of the writers proposed by Studybay was quite short, and most of them were either new writers or those with a mediocre rating. For example, some writers were desperately trying to get their first order, so they even wrote to us saying that they’ll charge us half price.
This felt a little bit overwhelming and difficult because trusting someone with no proven experience in writing and Marketing is surely a bad idea. As we were checking out the writers who were proposed in the list, we came to an end pretty quickly, and we saw a message proposing us to make it more visible.
As you can see, Studybay wants you to pay additionally to get access to more, quality writers.
We have chosen a female writer who has completed two projects in Marketing, which was the topic of our paper. She charged us $5 per page.
When we reviewed the paper that we received, we were shocked by the quality because it was simply horrible. Not only it had a grammar mistake in almost every paragraph, the logical flow of information was lacking, and we’re pretty confident that our paper was written by a non-native English speaker with limited knowledge of our topic.
We tried to contact Study Bay through the live chat, but instead of the answer, we saw this:
Okay, wait for 40 minutes until someone from customer support is ready to respond? No, thank you. They don’t have 24/7 customer support, so if you have a problem with something, you’ll have to wait until they’re ready.
We faced a rather strange situation in this StudyBay review. When we submitted the details of the assignments, the site generated a bunch of writer options for us, but their offers seemed a bit strange. For example, the response below summarizes these options beautifully.
Can you imagine a professional writer, let alone a native speaker with a degree in marketing, working for $3 per page? All of the writers that were proposed by the system had a mediocre rating and performance, so we had to choose one who had only three positive reviews and completed two projects in Marketing category.
Even though they have low prices, which is something that a lot of customers can enjoy, the quality of writing is simply horrible. The paper we got had a bunch of grammar mistakes, some parts of it didn’t even make sense to us. To make a long story short, it was a very low-quality paper for an affordable price, and we’d have to revise it at least once to get it right.
So, concluding these StudyBay reviews is really simple: they attract customers with the auction and low prices, and a great part of their workforce is simply incompetent. Not recommended!
