Looking a bit outdated design-wise, Extraessay.com makes quite a few bold promises to visitors. This “Scotland-incorporated firm,” as they call themselves, claims to deliver plagiarism-free, reasonably priced academic works that get the highest grades.
While promising this is quite typical for essay writing services, one thing that really shocked us is that Extraessay.com wants students to forget about writing assignments. This is called “Course subscription,” and they offer the visitors to send them the syllabus and class materials and complete all semester assignments.
Well, in our honest opinion, essay writing services should first and foremost seek to assist students with research and writing, not complete entire courses for them. Extraessay.com tries to represent this offer as “more affordable than placing orders individually,” but this definitely sounds like they’re more interested in getting more money and more long-term clients.
Writing Services Offered
The range of services provided by Extraessay.com is pretty typical and includes essays, coursework, research papers, dissertations, theses, reports, book/movie reviews, speech, and case studies. You can check out some of the samples of these works on their website as well, and all of them are highly rated by customers, which might suggest that Extraessay.com only displays the best texts on their website.
Also, we found some surprising things that we found about Extraessay.com samples that suggest about their unprofessional attitude to sharing examples of their work with students. For example, we tried reading two sample documents at Extraessay.com/samples and we discovered that the first two of them were identical despite having different titles!
The first document was called “Psycical Trauma” (note the mistake) and contained a paper called Admission Essay that had nothing to do with the topic (it described the plans of a student to get into computing field).
The second sample work was called The Devil Wears Prada (the title also contains a mistake, as the title requires no “the”) and it had exactly the same text about computing.
Come on, Extraessay.com, you can’t do that to your customers. Ay self-respecting essay writing service would give real examples. These documents suggest that the company may not have many quality samples to display.
Pricing and Discounts
The prices for their services are also a little bit lower than the industry average; for example, the lowest price for one page of a research paper was $14, but you’ll have to wait at least 14 days for the work to be completed. If you can’t wait and need the paper to be done within 3 days, you’ll pay $24 for one page.
We paid $72 for our 3-page research paper with a 3-day deadline.
And one more thing: Extraessay.com has one of the lowest discounts for first-time customers: 10 percent.
To test the quality of Extraessay.com papers by ourselves, we ordered a three-page research paper about the analysis of Barack Obama’s economic policies during his two terms in the office. The work was delivered within the deadline, which was good, but the quality was a bit disappointing.
While having summarized most of the information we’re looking to get, the writer has made some mistakes. For example, he didn’t mention any of the economic stimulus law that President Obama signed (The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is one of them), even though this was explicitly stated in our instructions.
Moreover, the writer has also failed to provide five quality sources; instead, he used only three resources and one newspaper article, which also meant that he’s chosen not to follow our requirements.
So, we can’t recommend Extraessay.com as a reliable writing service based on our experience.
The customer support team at Extraessay.com is a little bit pushy, but overall helpful. There are multiple ways to contact them, including email, Facebook, phone, and live chat.
Based on our experience, Extraessay.com doesn’t look so good. We can provide three claims to support this conclusion:
- They didn’t follow our paper instructions
- They want students to forget about writing with their “course subscription,” which clearly suggests that profit drives them rather than a desire to help students improve
- The samples on their website are confusing, so we can’t really know if they can provide quality work unless we order from them.
So, our verdict is: Extraessay.com is untrustworthy, so we don’t recommend them.
